What is a church?

Family

A church is a gathering of believers who love and care for one another, looking out for one another and praying for each other. We help one another when we are hurting or sick, and treat one another as we would like to be treated.

According to Galatians 6:2, we “bear one another’s burdens and in this way so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Discipleship

The way we help one another grow is by encouraging one another, praying for one another, studying God’s Word together, and helping one another up when we stumble, as all people do from time to time.

The goal in all is that we would as individuals and as a body grow to look more and more like Jesus, that we would shine the light of Jesus Christ into every corner of the world.

Body of Believers

When people join the church, they profess their desire to live like Christ and help one another grow in that pursuit. The church is therefore a gathering of imperfect people helping one another in this journey.

According to 1 Corinthians 12, we all have different gifts, and in this body we find our place in God’s plan.

Evangelism

The end goal of everything we do as a church is to share the message of the Gospel with the whole earth:

Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

If you’d like to consider joining our Church family,

  1. Please set up an appointment to visit with Pastor Aaron in his office. This will not be an interrogation, but rather a time for us to ensure that you understand exactly what we believe! This will also be a time for Aaron to get to know you and how you desire to serve in the church.

  2. Then you will come forward publicly during a regularly scheduled worship service to announce your intent to join the church at a time arranged with Pastor Aaron.

  3. If you have not been baptized by immersion, we will need to set up a time to do that during worship. This is not an indictment of a previous baptism. Please understand that as Baptists, we believe that each individual must decide to be Baptized. Therefore we practice Believer’s Baptism following the New Testament model.

  4. Then Give, Grow, and Go! It’s an expectation that all members would give of their time, talents, and resources for building God’s Kingdom. Then we find ways to grow in our walk with Jesus through corporate worship and the study of God’s Word. Finally, everyone should serve in wherever area and however they feel led!
