How to Use This Site
We have provided this site so you can learn more about Edgefield First Baptist Church and stay up to date on what’s happening here. Here are a few things you might find helpful as you navigate the site.
On the right hand side of the page, you’ll find a gray tabbed section. Each tab has important information such as our weekly schedule, the latest news, and links to the latest sermons.
Below the tabbed information section is a section called, “Connect with Edegefield FBC.” Here’s more information about each of those services.
Facebook is a social networking site that allows you to stay updated on the goings-on in your friends lives or become a “fan” of institutions who use Facebook. Some of the information you see on our Facebook page will be repeated from our website, but if you’re on Facebook a lot, it might be worth checking out. This is a great way for Edgefield First Baptist to stay connected with our college students who move away to school.
Twitter is micro-blogging site that allows users to send out very brief updates (140 characters) answering the question, “What are you doing?” The key to Twitter is building interaction with the online community.
Flickr is a photo hosting website where we’ll post photos of activities in the life of Edgefield First Baptist.

Almost every day, you check the mailbox in front of your house or a box at the post office for incoming mail. Perhaps you even have a newspaper delivered to your house. RSS is the newspaper delivery system of the internet. Instead of taking the time to go to several different websites to check the latest news, you can have the news (or articles, or pictures, or whatever you subscribe to) delivered directly to your feed reader. Google Reader, Bloglines, NewsGator are all examples of excellent feed readers that also happen to be completely free. If you don’t want to subscribe to our RSS feed in a feed reader, you can have the same content delivered to your email inbox the day after we publish something new. It isn’t as immediate as a feed reader, but it still takes the work out of finding out what’s going on.

Podcasts allow you to subscribe to audio content just like RSS allows you to receive news, articles, and blog posts. In fact, the delivery method (RSS) is exactly the same; it’s the content that’s different. You can subscribe to podcasts in the same feed reader you use for your other news or you can subscribe to them in a software application like iTunes which allows you to synchronize the audio to your iPod or other portable listening device.
