What is Maundy Thursday? It is a day to celebrate Christ’s last supper with his disciples. He could have preached to the masses….he could have gone and argued with the Pharisees…but
He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Then after He had performed this mundane and humble act, He gave the disciples a new command:
If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
See, our Maundy Thursday service is in celebration of our Lord’s sacrifice but also that we have the privilege to love one another. To me, This service next Thursday at 6:30 is one of the most touching and worshipful services we have.
Please make plans to be there and bring the whole family.
