I wanted to take this opportunity let you all know where we will be going over the next few Sundays. I provide this information so that you can read the passages
This Sunday, we will finish up Thom Rainer’s Book, I Am A Church Member. We will discuss Chapter 5 and how we must lead our families to be healthy church members. We will study Ephesians 5:22-33. The next generation is watching us, and how we treasure our membership, will affect them for the rest of their lives. Let us join together and show them what true, active church membership looks like.
The following two Sundays, we will walk through 2 Timothy 2:2 and related passages and examine how our church membership calls us into discipleship relationships. We will look at practical tips on how to share your faith and in turn get poured into by other mature Christians. We are called to grow together, and this requires effort and planning. I’m currently taking a class on education theory and course development. While it isn’t the most interesting class, it has helped me see that learning doesn’t just happen. Teaching others requires a tremendous amount of effort and preparation. Are you putting effort into teaching others? Are you putting effort into teaching your family?
Lastly, we will study through the book of Jonah throughout November. It is only 4 chapters, so I should finish it by the end of the month. There is more to this story than a big fish!
As always, my sermon schedule is tentative, but I wanted to put it out there so you can read ahead and pray about what God would have you learn. Thank you for your kind words and prayers. God is good!
P.S. – Mark your calendars! On November 26th, we will take a group to the Operation Christmas Child Center in Charlotte. We will leave early that morning and be back mid-afternoon. We would love to have you join us!
