A Word from The Pastor - June 14, 2017

Posted by Aaron Tripp on

I want to say a special thank you to the church from my entire family. We truly felt your prayers and read every text/facebook post expressing concern and support for us over the weekend. It was a scary time as words like Leukemia and Tumors were passed around, but God is good and all of those tests and scans came back negative. My daughter spent 2 days in the hospital when they originally said it would be 3 or 4. Plus, her mysterious 8 week fever ended after they put her to sleep for the MRI! The doctors don’t know what happened and neither do we. Would I like to know what she was sick with? Sure, but I won’t lose any sleep over it. My daughter is doing well, and there is nothing better that I could ask for as a father. As of today, her fever is gone, and we are all relieved!

This whole ordeal makes me think about the flood story I’ll be preaching through on Sunday. God loves mankind so much, but He watched as they got sicker and sicker due to their own sin and misdeeds. How much that must have broken his heart to watch them hurt themselves. It broke my heart listening to my daughter call out to me in pain, and her pain wasn’t anyone’s fault! God hears us when we cry out, of that I can assure you. He certainly heard all of you lifting our family up.

The doctors may not know what helped my daughter, but I do. The Great Physician did what He has been doing for a long time, healing lives. Thank you once again to all who visited, prayed, emailed, messaged…your kindness was evident and appreciated.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”
