What a wonderful Easter Service we had this past Sunday! It was great to see 336 people in attendance! I want to say a special thank you to each and every person that was there. Thank you also to those of you who invited guests to join us. A church grows through personal invitations, and Sunday was a good sign of things to come. That neighbor who you know does not attend church, that family member who has not gotten plugged into a church, please invite them!
A recent study found that More than nine out of 10 of the unchurched said they would come to church if they were invited. Let that sink in for a minute. All around us are people who would like to come to church, but they do not feel comfortable attending without an invitation. Gone are the days when people just showed up on Sundays as part of their spiritual duties. Now, we must strive to make people feel welcome, and that starts when we all take time to invite others to join us.
Let us not grow weary in inviting others to our church. Easter is always a big pull in terms of attendance, but let us join together as a church and continue to invite others that we might welcome the community to worship with us every Sunday! Acts 2:47 says: “and the Lord added to their numbers daily those who were being saved.” Notice that our goal is not just more people in pews, our goal is more people hearing and responding to the Gospel. Therefore, let us invite well, but let us also pray even more for the Holy Spirit to use us and our church to change lives.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to come by my office or call me. I’d love to get to know you better and maybe give you ideas on how to invite others to our church family.
