A Word From The Pastor | April 11

Posted by Aaron Tripp on

This Thursday night, we have a Maundy Thursday service planned for 6:30pm in the Sanctuary. What is Maundy Thursday? Maundy is derived from a Latin word that means “command.” Thursday is the traditional day for the Last supper with the disciples. It was at the last supper that Jesus told his disciples to partake of the bread and wine in remembrance of his life, death, and resurrection looking forward to the day He would return and save His people. It was a command to partake of the Lord’s Supper. That’s why we do it regularly as a church. A Maundy Thursday service is a time for us to observe this command as a body on the same night that the disciples had their last meal with Jesus.

The service on Thursday will be solemn and worshipful. It will be shorter than a regular service, but it will hopefully be very meaningful to you and your family. I’m asking everyone to plan on being their unless providentially hindered. It will be a great time of worship and fellowship for all. Childcare will be provided in the nursery for those who need it.

If you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to call the church office or email us. You can also send a message on facebook or through our new website.

We hope to see you there!
